Stoops a real salesman

Coming off a terrific 2007 recruiting year, the Oklahoma Sooners haven't rested a breath, having already racked up 14 commitments in '08, including four 4-star prospects (according to Rivals.com).
Brent Venables, one of the most energetic recruiters in the nation, gets a lot of credit for the haul. So do Cale Gundy and Bobby Jack Wright, who make annual inroads in Oklahoma and Texas, respectively.
But what about the head coach? Could Bob Stoops be as effective in living rooms as he is on the sidelines?
"Bob Stoops is an underrated recruiter," national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming recently said. "He's meticulous, aggressive and doesn't miss anything. He's very knowledgeable and persistent. Barry Switzer was flamboyant, but Stoops is just very consistent."
