Maybe TU was right about giving up college baseball.
OU, OSU and ORU have given up baseball, but are still acting out on various fields.
OU is just a cut above terrible. But nobody seems to care much because, as is frequently the case in Norman, it's not football. About all that's asked of minor sports in Norman is to stay off the police blotter.
OSU is good enough to make everybody mad by losing at home in regionals. OSU takes its minor sports more seriously than does OU, because OU is better at football.
ORU's cheeseball conference appears to be taking a nasty toll in basketball and baseball. It wins the under-performing conference in many activities, but is unprepared for real world competition. ORU tries to offset the lousy conference competition -- but when you play Wichita State on a Tuesday, you don't get its best pitcher. Exactly what is winning a bad conference worth?
Nothing.
TU broke even this baseball season without even trying.

I Pity You

You are all hot air. Did you actually go to any ORU games? They are/were good. Better than their toothless cousins to the west and southwest. They drubbed Arkansas, played Texas nearly even, took two from Baylor. Had an All-American.
You are pathetic. You see only the negative in everything and never the positive. You are a worthless sack of crap.

Pity:
I think you're right. I really think ORU will do some damage in the regionals and move on to the.......What? Oh, never mind.
TU definitely has that sport figured out. PING!

To I Pity You: let us not castigate our dear Picker, for to do so only diminished oneself in the vain attempt to diminish him. As Paul said while running from the angry mob chasing him for thrice beating the chellowiths, 'Whoa, there, pardners!' Do you think Paul was actually fond of the chellowiths? No, I think not. Paul probably found the chellowiths every bit as distasteful as we find them, and yet, he was willing to address them as brethren in an attempt to reach a compromise...and to not have his silly head bashed in. Amen.

Jay:
I support all of OU's minor sports through the good times (National Title in 94) and bad (when you played?).
And, I do want them to stay out of trouble.

Had OSU been able to play their #1 pitcher, they would have definitely made it out of the regional. It just goes to show how much difference one player can make and how one stupid mistake can cut a season very short.
Nit Picker

World Picker, you seem to be the only one who is "mad" about OSU/OU/TU losing in the regionals.
We all thought you were the 'neutral observer' and we readers were all just dumb homers.
Guess we were wrong again.
Why don't you identify yourself? Are you afraid of something? Most bigots are.
You should be required to identify yourself, or be fired.

s/b ORU, not TU.

World Picker:
You have denounced steroid use by athletes in your normal sarcastic style. ('THE HULKS OF SUMMER')
You have had plenty of time to consider my question to you about Big Brown:
He takes steroids, does that make him a "junkie" or a "Hulk of the Summer" ?
Did you bet on him? Do you support an asterik next to his racing wins, especially if he wins the Triple Crown?

C'mon NIT Picker dude, your act is tired. The Picker is hit or miss, but this was pretty funny. Take it as a joke, not as some sort of moral statement about sports. All you do is make people laugh more. Quite frankly, I enjoy watching the Picker infuriate you with a hand behind his back.

Picker, don't worry. Many love you. I don't always agree commentary but it is almost always entertaining. Please keep angering people like I PITY YOU.

Hey I Pity You,
Even sacks of crap have worth!
OSUNDN

NIT PICKER/NIT WITTER, when did you get out of jail? World Picker posts an accurate, unbiased blog and you still have to try to pick him apart.
TAB is right, Picker is making you look foolish without even trying and you not realizing it. Is NIT PICKER your real name?
Nit Picker

OSUNDN & TAB:
You are correct, I am making World Picker's Blog more entertaining than it would be with just minions like you two kissing his red arse.
TAB, I am glad that you enjoy reading my posts; but concerned that you still say "dude"-how old are you?
OSUNDN, you are living in a dream world - "accurate" and "unbiased"? Say hello to Elvis for me.
You two should thank me-for without my posts you would be wallowing in an embarrassingly dull love - in with World Picker. Now that would really make you two look pretty silly. Oops, too late.
I will sign my posts with my real name when you and World Picker do the same.
I don't think you two have the courage to do so; it is obvious World Picker doesn't.
So who is infuriated? Calling someone out is fun, not infuriating. Just ask World Picker.
You boys don't forget to take your 'roids.
Sign your real name to your blog, World Picker. Secrecy and anonymity is unbecoming for professional journalists.
Of course, Dear Abby was quite successful.

The TW folks have my name. I use initials because of nutjobs like you. Again, the NIT Picker can't hold the World Picker's jock. Nit Picker simply makes this blog entertaining by playing a fool.
World Picker

To those not familiar with Nit Picker, he's stalking this site, he can't stay away, he's jealous and compulsive and obsessive and is at least off the street when here.
By the way, the Nit he picked lost 35-0.
Nit Picker

Dear TAB;
The TW folks and World Picker have my name too. I only use a screen name to make you mad.
Yes, I agree, I make the blog entertaining when otherwise it would be nothing more than a bunch of high school jock-wannabes trying to act like grown-up athletic supporters.
And you know that World Picker wears a jock how? Umm.
Those of you unfamiliar with me are obviously not reading this blog often enough.
For those of you who were stupid enough to bet on Big Brown Saturday take note: steroids are the answer.
Later "Dudes". Gotta go stalk some real men.

Out Pick The Picker
The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
