Sutton Eyes Class of 2009

Oklahoma State basketball coach Sean Sutton, who has been recruiting since a first-round NIT defeat, would like to add players who can contribute immediately. But the Cowboys also appear to be targeting prospects in the class of 2009.
Roger Franklin, a 6-foot-5 1/2 junior forward from Duncanville, Texas, is regarded as a top five player in Texas and is being recruited by Marquette and most Big 12 schools.
Franklin's AAU coach, Wes Grandstaff, said OSU is in Franklin's top five and might be No. 1 on the list.
John Wall, a 6-4 playmaker from Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., is ranked as the class of 2009's best point guard by Rivals.com.
Wall has a long list of suitors, according to D-One Sports program director Brian Clifton, whose organization sponsors teams for prospects in North Carolina and South Carolina. D-One Sports already has one alum, Marshall Moses, in Stillwater. Moses and Wall are good friends who phone each other a couple of times per week.
"For that reason alone, Oklahoma State is going to have an opportunity to be there until the very end with John," Clifton said.
An in-state class of 2009 player who is being recruited by virtually everyone, including OSU, is 6-10 Daniel Orton of McGuinness High School. He is ranked as the nation's top junior center by Rivals.com and he is the younger brother of former Cowboy player Terrence Crawford.
Regarding more immediate help, the Cowboys will get a visit this weekend from College of Southern Idaho forward Juan Pattillo. It is believed the Cowboys are in the running to secure visits from Tyler Junior College 6-6 forward Jimmy Butler, who has three years of Division I eligibility, and 6-11 Australian post player Ater Majok, who de-committed from Baylor and has visited Maryland and Connecticut.

To the "Eddie" poster...your post is neither funny nor witty. You are both a coward and a hypocrite.

Posters are funny when you can tell they are jealous. Good one "Eddie", now go mop up aisle 3.

Sounds good. So how is Holder not saying anything hurting recruiting again????

Jimmie,

Love your blog. Just a small suggestion, could you put empty lines between your paragraphs? I know this is a cardinal sin in print, but it makes for much easier online reading. Keep up the good work!

Giorgio: Sorry, but I don't think the double-spacing thing is going to be in vogue here at the paper, even on the web. But I appreciate the suggestion.

Not one single report from any reporter on Willie Warren's game-high 23 points in the McDonald's All-American game? That's nice, from a OSU-homer newspaper. Oh, Warren was the lone McDonald's All-American representative of the Big 12, and Oklahoma was in the NCAA tournament this season, not Oklahoma State - In fact, it's been a while for the Pokers.

Byron, when OU fans start caring about OU basketball I'm sure the rest of the world will as well.
