Sutton's Confidence Pushed Eagles

There were plenty of people who believed a mighty fall was in store for Oral Roberts this year.
Many figured the Golden Eagles were living off stars Caleb Green and Ken Tutt.
That was certainly true. Three straight conference titles and two NCAA Tournaments.
But ORU coach Scott Sutton knew the Eagles were good enough and deep enough to make another run into March Madness.
Sutton's belief proved to be fact on Tuesday night when ORU won the Summit League championship to earn a third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.
If there was ever any doubt about Sutton's ability to mold a team, forget about it.
This was his best coaching job in nine years at ORU.
He took a group of role players, added a couple of key junior college players, and molded a team that should be considered a threat to make life miserable for a higher seed in the NCAA Tournament.
The Eagles might not be ready to win an NCAA game, yet.
But as ORU proved once again on Tuesday night, it knows how to win tight games. And, that is huge in March.
