TU back on big stage in 2010

One year in advance, I've got a prediction: Tulsa is going to the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
All the stars are aligning correctly for this to occur.
The Memphis program has seemingly been neutered by the loss of coach John Calipari and by the possible exits of high-profile recruits who may choose to go somewhere else.
And the 2010 Conference USA Tournament will be in Tulsa, giving the Golden Hurricane homecourt advantage in the race to secure the league's automatic NCAA bid.
As long as C-USA doesn't admit Hawaii before next season -- Hawaii never seemed to mind that TU had homecourt advantage when WAC Tournaments were held here -- then Doug Wojcik's squad should be in position to get back on the big stage.

Tulsa World sports writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. He is the OSU basketball beat writer and a columnist and feature writer during football season. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
