TU's New Goal is Bowl

Tulsa’s loss at SMU pretty much closes out the Conference USA chances for the Golden Hurricane.
Sure, Todd Graham will put the best face possible on it but the hole may be too much for TU. They would probably need SMU to lose at least three conference games down the stretch. In a league with few decent teams, that isn’t likely.
The Hurricane had chances in a game that was up for grabs in the fourth quarter.
Tulsa’ defense, decent for much of the game, simply couldn’t stop SMU in the final seven minutes to get the ball back and give TU one last chance.
Now, the season comes down to getting bowl eligible.
That should happen if Tulsa will win the games it should win. Conference USA is weak enough that there should be plenty of victories left for TU to make it to a bowl.
Considering the shaky start to the season, that would be a nice turnaround from a season that didn’t look too bright in September.

Decent? No wonder they didn't want to televise the indecent game. Do C-USA teams play in the nude? Are those C-USA schools that are featured on MVT's Friday nightI Lingerie League?

Decent can also mean adequate, sportswriter.

TU's defense is better than originally thought, especially in terms of C-USA. It was good enough to win the game (TU really should have won the game) against what is probably the best or 2nd best offense in C-USA (TU's is probably the best although it struggled the other night b/c Kinne's accuracy was off). Houston would have been #1 except they're using a 3rd string QB and have struggle since the loss of Keenum.

TU will end up at 8-4 this season (predicting an upset against Houston in Houston) and a sweep of their home games. Notre Dame game will be a lot closer than people anticipate.
