Here are the top 16 stories of the moment.
16. Texas stinks.
Fans see what what they want to -- OU fans have already forgotten that the Texas runner fumbled cruising into the end zone for a seven-point lead.
15. Former TU coach K and the Louisville athletic director probably each wish for mulligans.
Louisville couldn't stop ant traffic.
Coach K looks like he wishes he was back here where he was the hero, not the enemy.
14. Baseball needs a little replay.
Give teams two challenges on matters unrelated to strikes and balls.
13. Ohio State should apologize for its conference.
What's the second best Big Ten team, Illinois? That Missouri took out.
12. OU people are laughing at Missouri.
The truth is Missouri moved easily versus OU last year, but couldn't score from the one.
11. South Florida is no good at all.
Central Florida could take it out this weekend.
ESPN hype made it what it is today, vastly overrated.
10. Now that he has changed quarterbacks, Spurrier's South Carolina team could be the best in the country.
9. OU will pass every team that is ahead of it and loses.
LSU could lose twice!
8. Fox has the best pro pre-game show by a considerable margin.
Switzer and Jimmy are funny.
7. Here's where Gundy should yell this week: at the mirror.
Oklahoma State was much better than the Aggies.
The very debatable holding penalty late was a disgusting and catasthropic call.
6. Only idiots get on the cell phone and wave from behind home plate.
5. Say goodbye to Green Bay, it's history.
4. Since the TU coach likes to talk, one thing he should learn how to say is: Time Out!
3. Nobody in college football has a good defense.
Why? The spread offenses.
Everybody runs one. College receivers are much better than cornerbacks.
2. Missouri is like TU on offense, only with much better players.
1. Kentucky probably takes down Les "Today's Genius" Miles Saturday.

Mr. Picker, TU is not Missouri with better players. That is an insult to the outstanding players at Tulsa. Not to mention, TU has outstanding players. Marion, Clay, and Johnson are great. They proved they were against the mighty Sooners. With a defense TU would be a BCS threat. Get that non-sense out of here. It is compliment to Missouri for their offense to be compared to the offensive juggernaut at Tulsa. I think Missouri has a great offense, so does Tulsa.

Slight correction: "Missouri is not TU with better players" -- Sorry for the confusion there

Serious question: why don't the BCS presidents kicked Notre Dame out of the equation and force them to join a conference? When was the last time Notre Dame was actually good? 15 years ago? And Notre Dame is practically a member of the Big Ten anyway. I think the BCS presidents should step up and force Notre Dame into that play. And frankly, if Notre Dame was smart, they would join a conference. The way college football is total, you just can't compete as an independent, which they are proving quite nicely right now. I don't think the coach is to blame. It's the situation of the program.

Dear World Picker, aka, OSU/TU Homer:
I see you are still drinking the kool aid, homer.
OU people are NOT laughing at Missouri (although I have heard a few chuckles at TU's loss to mighty UTEP).
Missouri is NOT TU with better players. TU has very good players. (But apparently UTEP's are better.)
Here's a serious question: Isn't a "Fighting Irishman" just as offensive as any other mascot the NCAA has forced out?
UT RB J.Charles did not fumble-OU linebacker knocked the ball out of his hands. Watch the game sometime instead of making it up as you go along. (You could probably work for ABC if you weren't on the TU payroll.)
Since college receivers are better than cornerbacks, a poor pass defense isn't really a poor pass defense, it is just having to contend with a good spread offense. Umm. You may be a genius.
The TU coach can't call timeout because he usually has his players fake an injury to spell his no-huddle offense. He has forgotten how to call T.O.

The truth (fact) is Mizz couldn't (didn't) stay within two touchdowns of OU in Columbia last year. True this years MU is better, but so is OU and they are playing in Norman. It is clear by reading your columns that you dispise the OU program and their fans. I've never once heard you comment on how well Sam Bradford is playing for a freashman, or any other positive thing about there season. At least balance the negativity with some positive. OSU wasn't much better than the aggies, or they wouldn't have pulled a massive choke job and given up a 17 point lead. I know A&M is leading the south (laugh Baylor and OSU at home) but A&M will finish no better than 4th or 5th in the division. Bottom line is it is no great thing to be "clearly better" than A&M.. A&M IS TERRIBLE!!
Nora from the hills

Are they laughing more at Missouri than they did at Colorado?
RR

What is a "freashman"? Does that mean you get 7 years of eligibility?? Oh my goodness, Bradford is going to be awesome at OU when he's 24!!
Mike

Apparently the OU fans didn't read the entire blog, rather just skipped straight to the section about OU. In reality, he knocked both TU and OSU in this very same blog by calling out Gundy and the TU players. How is that being a homer? Just because he doesn't kiss OU's butt in every article, doesn't make him biased...in fact it means the exact opposite. If you want fair criticisms of each state school and are mature enough to handle it without spewing nonsensical prattle in response, keep reading. If all you want to read is how Bradford is the next Peyton Manning and how OU should really be a team in the NFL, stick to the other Oklahoma paper.

Hey CHRIS, Notre Dame join a conference?????
Yea, good idea, and share all that NBC money with Northwestern and Indiana and the other cupcakes of the Big 2........Fantastic Idea.....hope your OSU business degree is taking you far!

Last week, you said the OU pass defense was bad. Then, this week, you said that it's more a case of college receivers being better than college defensive backs, with a cross-eyed opinion that it may have something to do with the spread offense.
Hah! Which is it? Is it that the spread offense is that tough to defend at the college level, or is it that all defensive backs are worse as a whole than all receivers?
Jeez. Your remarks/quips/opines/comments/whatevers are quite HYPERBOLIC. Which side of the brain are you typing with today?
Like I wrote to you in a previous thread, you can't have it both ways (paraphrased). I'm not defending OU, just taking you to task for reversing your position. And this was after you sarcastically dismissed my attempt at engaging you in a debate which would display to us all your wealth of football knowledge.
Of course, again, you will neglect to admit someone else may have a differing opinion that may, in fact, matter, and either dismiss it sarcastically or spin it around on the poster.
Beginning to wonder if you even know football, or if your only motivation is pushing buttons. The funny thing about writers like you is that they get so wrapped up in the button pushing they forget to keep track of which buttons they've pushed.

To TU homeric aka World Picker: I see your little brother, Mike, is posting comments for you now.
Well,Mike,if not a homer, then an OU/OUFan/Stoops basher he is, bro. I see you bash the OU fans, too. It is time someone stood up to his bs. Obvioulsy you family members won't do it.
To Nora from the hills: That laughing you hear is coming from your brother Homeric, aka World Picker. You are doing his work for him responding to posts on his behalf and he is the one getting paid.

I agree with you the holding penalty was terrible, but that wasn't even close to the worst thing that happened in that game.
Why in the world is someone trying to block a punt, down by one, late in the 4th, when all you need is a FG to win?!?!?!
Gundy made the right decision by opting for the FG to get OSU within a FG of winning. The smart thing is to rush no one on the punt, block so the returner has enough room to catch the ball, and make a fair catch. They already kicked one FG, and logic says they'd do it again. Isn't that why they kicked it in the first place? So that they wouldn't have to score 6 to win? I just don't get it.
Don't even go near the punter. If they wanted to fake it, play base defense and take the ball over in FG RANGE! If they punt it, take the ball over IN GOOD ENOUGH FIELD POSITION to move the ball INTO FG RANGE TO KICK THE GAME WINNER! There was enough time to move the ball. Whether the player or the coach is to blame, Cowboys fans are (at least should be) disappointed that the game had to end on such a ridiculous brain cramp.
That's probably the one thing I took away from that game. Rarely does one bad penalty called/not called affect the final verdict. It can happen, but not in this case.
Just as much as the TU coach needs to learn how to make a "tee" with his two hands and show it to an official, the OSU coach(es) need to learn how to explain to their players that doing something stupid takes the outcome out of their hands. If I were a player, I'd take my chances with my offense, which was having a pretty good day overall, even considering the second half. Punt blocks are a once- or twice-in-a-season occurrance. Too risky.

Brother Picker is being paid? Really? Maybe Mike and I aren't the smartest ones in the family after all!
First Edition

I think we are all missing the MOST important point on Gundy's decision to kick the late field goal--which is the fact that said action put the second half point total over the 29 1/2...You're a genius coach!

Nitpicker:
I see your perspective on the RB fumble vs. LB good hit point, but RBs get hit all the time. They are supposed to be hit and retain the ball. There's no difference in the stat line. When the ball carrier drops the ball, they still get tagged with a fumble, regarless of the degree of the hit they took during the process.
Furthermore, I'd have to agree with the Picker in this instance, that it was more of a poor ball-security issue than such a devastating hit by a LB. There were plent of other slobber-knocker hits in that game delivered by both teams that didn't result in a fumble. Good play by LB, sure. Horrible play though by RB. You just cant fumble headed to the endzone. Even if it means sacrificing the TD on that particular run, you can't let loose of the ball. Ask Texas fan.
Still, probably the biggest play of the game both ways. OU did nothing to stop the first half bleeding and Texas let them off the hook (no pun intended) too easily.

Were TU and Missouri to play, the final would be Missouri 88, Tulsa 57.
First Edition: Instead of second half totals, might I suggest a nice mutual fund?
Anybody like my Kentucky over LSU?
How about the coaching line of bunk that turnovers kill you every time. See Dallas/Buffalo. For an interesting change of pace, after a turnover, SOMEBODY MAKE A PLAY.

Doug,
You see the exact reason why I say the BCS presidents have to force Notre Dame to do it. But I like the way NBC has had to promote some of the games this year since Notre Dame has been so bad. If Notre Dame keeps playing this bad, they might not get another exclusive contract, and that would really force them into a conference.

Agreed, RBs charged with fumble. But Homeric thinks it was unforced. It wasn't.
Re: "poor ball security issue rather than devastating hit".....and we/you know this how? But, I guess it is irrelevant since turnovers don't kill you anyway: See Homeric post #7. Ergo, made no difference in outcome of game. Much ado about nothing.
If MU scores 28 (or 27) it will be way below their per game average, wont' it?
Nonetheless, MU has very good offense.
One need be only as smart as Homeric and his sibs, Mike and Nora, to see that. To clarify: add Homeric and his sibs IQ's together, multipy by 2 and you have someone smart enough to see MU is a very good offense, but not someone smarter than a 5th Grader.
UK over LSU : Like it. [But recall last time UK played LSU at Commonwealth Stadium. Hail Mary by LSU at end of game. Tipped. TD LSU. LSU wins.] Tough win for UK, but doable. Definitely can beat the spread, but who bets real $$ these days?
Give it up World Picker, you are nothing but an angry OU/OUfan/Stoops basher. You could be so much better. Yet, I do understand why you pander to the local OSU/TU powers that be.
Keep up the mediocre work. You continue to make me and others look good. Hey, maybe that's why peoples hang round you in first place.
