Ten Big Things That Separate Bama from OU (and OSU)
Published: 1/8/2013 3:38 PM
Last Modified: 1/8/2013 3:38 PM

Here are the reasons why OU (and OSU)can't stay on the field with Alabama; or whomever the SEC representative is:

1. Alabama doesn't run any sissy spread offense. Alabama lines up like men and runs the football down your throat, then skins you with play-action passes.

2. There are few if any punks on the team. You don't like Saban's rules, leave.

3. Saban doesn't kiss up to the media. You don't like him, tough.

4. Great play calling. It's 50-50 what the next play will be.

5. Great conference. LSU is a mini-Bama, Bama without a quarterback. The bottom quarter of the league stinks. The top third is the best.

6. No option junk. The last time a Bama national championship quarterback ran the option was.....never.

7. Athletic cornerbacks and linebackers. Put the best players on defense.

8. Gets to play stuff like Notre Dame for the national title. ND barely beat OU, talk about a key tipoff of a route to come.

9. Great runners. Bama recruits players who can make defenders miss.

10. Fire. The center and quarterback fight during the game, perfect.

Completely disappointed Pick. Everything you say is true, but how long will you make us wait for the Mike Stoops (and Bob too for that matter) season end evaluation?

11. Solid QBs who can read defenses, throw well, and can move around and pick up 5 when they need to. If you can't outrun a defensive tackle you have no business at QB.

Medium Game Bob: D-minus. Cranky. Lost recruiting touch in Texas. CEO of good 'ol boys coaching club. Is in the wrong offense. Harps too much about being co-champ of below average league. Makes too much money.
"Time Out" Mike Stoops: F-minus. Could be the first to call a defensive time out before the game even starts. Hasn't stopped anybody of substance in 11 years. Has old school temper like Pelini, which doesn't play with today's best. Is heavily favored to keep his job under Medium Game as long as he wants it.

True. Which is why they both have to go. Anyone have Charlie Strong's number?

All the above reasons are legit. But there is one more: the Tuscaloosa police don't dare arrest Tide players for drug and alcohol offenses. They give them rides home.

12. Alabama players recive larges sums of cash, nice cars, and get 'help' with classes to come to Alabama!

LOL! Sure glad nothing like that's ever happened in Norman. Can you say Big Red Sports & Imports?

I hear ya!! It no longer happens so that is why they are "average" now!

Looks like 9-3/10-2 every year for Stoops. He can be at OU as long as he wants, and he'll still get inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

13. Alabama's QB is dating the hottest chick on the planet.

but just a A cup

14. Preparation. OU hasn't looked prepared for a major opponent in a while. Texas doesn't count anymore. Saban crossed his t's and dotted his i's.

Didn't A&M beat Bama with the spread?

Notre Dame shouldn't have been in the nat'l championship game. ND barely, and I mean barely, beat Purdue (who coincidentally lost by a marathon margin in the Heart of D bowl vs. a 7-5 OSU team), Pitt (ND needed overtime for a team that finished 6-7), and BYU (which was pretty weak overall). ND's best wins...a FG margin against a Stanford team that really didn't start playing well until late in the season, and a road win at OU, the 2nd best team in a down Big XII. Notre Dame played pseudo big-boy football this year, but couldn't play real big boy football against actual big boys.
