1 -- Paging Troy Smith, Mister Troy Smith, there's been a mistake, please return the Heisman Trophy at once.

2. What's with all the goofy "scripting" of plays to start a football game? It makes no sense whatsoever. Somebody is saying he'd run the same play third and an inch as he would second and 29? Get out of here.

3. If there were a "Plus One" playoff game this year, the final score would be: Florida 74, Boise State 6.

4. Anybody still think the SEC is overrated?

5. The company that makes the fantastic Skycams used in all NFL games to show the overhead view from behind the quarterback is owned by the local Winner Communications.

6. The winner of the SEC should get an automatic berth in the national championship game.

7. The Big 12 had no football team in the final top 10 poll, amazing.

8. Check out Poppy Montgomery on "Without a Trace" Sunday night; whoa.

9. If TU even mentions an assistant coach from either of the in-state teams as a possible replacement for coach K, we'll move to one of the Dakotas and take up organic gardening.

10. The double-take point spread of the upcoming pro weekend is San Diego a whooping 4-plus point favorite over New England; which means SD is the play.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
