Texas really that tough?

I guess I missed the statement Texas made by beating Arizona State in last December's Holiday Bowl. Pat Culpepper didn't. He writes, for the Inside Texas Web site:
"So the Texas running game still pales when compared to Oklahoma’s, and that’s why Bob Stoops can win with quarterbacks you’ve never heard of.
"Stoops has always held the whip in his hand toward his team and he is a defensive-oriented coach; however, we’ve witnessed a change in Mack Brown since the A&M loss. Let’s hope he learned something for the long-term.
"I salute coach Brown and his staff for getting the Texas team mentally and physically ready to represent what University of Texas football... is all about."
I don't know. Unless Brown finds a back to replace Jamaal Charles, and new defensive coordinator Will Muschamp finds more heart in a Longhorn defense that gave up 34 points to Arizona State, I don't get it.
