Mission impossible complete?
Stephen Holman/Tulsa World

We grade the local college basketball teams.

Oklahoma State: F.

Going from a 15-1 record to missing the NCAA tournament is impossible.

They were laughing at the Cowboys on ESPN this weekend. Hard to believe they have quit playing defense.

The new coach could be 0-2 when it comes to the big tourney.

Odds on winning the Big 12 tournament: only 10-1 for the Cowboys because it seldom matters who wins, unless it's a major underdog.

OU: C.

Concerning the new coach, feisty is one thing.

Nobody needs another bad Knight.

Quit showing off and coach.

TU: C.

The conference is so bad, who can tell how much improvement has been made.

Next year, the coach goes on the clock.

Notes: The attendance for the tournament finals for women was a national disgrace. The games was on ESPN 2. Couldn't have been 100 in the stands, counting players. Shame on the city and TU for bailing on the female finals.

Mr. Picker, I am glad to finally get the chance to comment on the grade you assigned to Tulsa. It is way too low. It should be an "A-" As a season ticket holder I have had many hours to make my evaluation and am very excited about the direction the program is taking.

You gave a mediocre grade because you must have forgotten the depths to which the program had sunk. With the addition of eight future stars, the corner has been turned and we are headed to the level we were at just four years ago. And, the conference is making the same improvements. Next year . . . . watch out everybody!

Hey picker. Are you ready for some football? I thought basketball would never be over. I don't understand what people see in watching some one who is 7 feet tall and has a 104 inch wingspan slam a ball through a hoop six feet ( joke) off the floor. And there is golf. I looked up spoiled brat in the dictionary and guess who I saw? Tiger. Am I looking forward to your football picks? You Bet
