Thankfully the Games are Back

The lost summer of college football is over and we’re still going to have games.
College football may not be out of the headlines for off-the-field issues but games are back next week.
It has been an awful summer for college football.
You have NCAA scandals that stretch from USC to Miami and nearly a dozen spots in between.
You have police incidents, such as at LSU, and debates over the future of paying college players.
In the Big 12, the league faces an uncertain future because of Texas A&M’s probable move to the Southeastern Conference.
The move by the Aggies brings up the future of a college football playoff among four 16-team super conferences.
And, most importantly for us around here, what conference will Oklahoma and Oklahoma State play football in five years from now.
Thankfully, we now have games. Our biggest worry will be about the play of the front seven on defense and do the offensive stars around here live up to the billing.
At the games, on fourth-and-one, we won’t be thinking about the scandals, league realignment or a playoff.
All we’ll care about is four-and-one.
Thank goodness football is back.
