Planes from Tulsa to Phoenix were loaded with folks wearing orange or red this weekend.
As they waited for bags, several talked about how great it was for both Oklahoma teams to be playing so close to each other during this bowl season.
In fact, several said they were going to go to both games.
That is the great thing about Oklahoma State in the Insight Bowl on Monday and Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl on Wednesday.
Local fans, who want, can see two pretty good games on one bowl trip.
You can watch the Cowboys in what should be a good offensive show with Indiana in the Insight Bowl mon Monday. Then, 48 hours laters, the Sooners play West Virginia in a game between top 10 teams at Glendale's University of Phoenix Stadium.
It makes it easy for the media folks, too. On Sunday, over a four-hour period, we walked with coaches and players from Oklahoma, West Virginia, Oklahoma State and Indiana. It all took place in the same interview rooms at the media hotel.
So, anytime two local schools want to play bowl games in the same town, and within two days of each other, I'm all for it.

Excellent insight, Klein. This was almost as good as this morning's editorial stating that there should be a playoff in college football. You didn't even try to fix the situtation, you just told us there was a problem. Thanks, I had forgotten. It's great that 2 local schools are both playing in Arizona. But you're missing the story. I'm not gonna tell you what the answer is; just giving you a taste of your own medicine.
