The Boring Season

Here are the most boring stories ever told and retold.
5. Locals sign great recruits.
Here's a headline we'd enjoy seeing: Slow Guy Nobody Any Good Wanted Signs After Stars Went Elsewhere.
OU homers are becoming well-schooled at making basketball players who averaged 4.5 points per game at Manitoba Juco sound like aces.
4. Tebow.
He couldn't throw at Florida, but will be able to throw in the NFL?
He's strickly a roll player, will roll in a few times from the 1.
3. Tiger.
He can't wait to get to the next two majors, a couple of layouts more scenic than tough, St. Andrews and Pebble, where 50-under could be the combined winning scores.
Where he stands now, he couldn't carry Jack's tees.
2. LeBron.
Here's where he should go: to a sports psychologist.
Good in the fall, nervous in the spring, all he has finished so far is campaigning for MVP. Not only has LeBron never won anything, he hasn't COME CLOSE!
1. College football realignment.
If this, maybe that, blah, blah, blah, woe is us, poor them, what if, what if, what if...who cares.
So go make some super-conferences. All the time wasted wondering what-if could have been used to help with real problems.

What problems?

5. I have no problem listening to news about recruiting. It's pretty much what carries me through the long and eventless summer (although, I am pretty pumped for the World Cup).
I agree on all the other points.
But What Do I Know?
The problem I have with re-alignment is the elimination of traditional rivalries. The OU - Nebraska game is the first one that comes to mind. That was a great game every year, something I really looked forward to. Then it changed to every "Xth" year. If Nebraska were to go to the big 10 that would probably be the end of that game. That would be sad.

OU-Nebraska a rivalry ????
Been so long that it meant anything, now it's like OU-Kansas St, OU-Iowa St., just another game....
LeBron(ze) James, he's a future Charles Barkley minus the wit & personality....

The other night one of the TV characters led his 55-second broadcast with the scoop that Texas to the Big Ten was latest gossip. Could there be a more ludicrous waste of time?
What did OU gain at Nebraska last year, two yards? Maybe it's a good time for the Cornhuskers to join the Ivy League.
Did anybody notice that the "alleged" HGH doctor was the one who "treated" Tiger?
Any college football realignment would include a playoff.

As far as Tebow goes, I wonder what Brady Quinn is thinking. Denver passes up Dez Bryant for a "role" player who'll be used on specific, short yardage plays. Plays that will be few 'n far between considering the rest of their offense.

5. With the recruits the OU Men's Basketball team has coming in this year, they'll be lucky to win two games in the Big 12.
4. Jesus Tebow will be used mainly in the Wildcat Formation.
3. I've said this before and I'll say it again: Tiger won't win a Major this year.
2. Lebron's clearly not the best player in the NBA. Didn't you say, Mr. Picker, in a previous blog post that the Lakers had no chance to beat the Cavs in the NBA Finals? How's that prediction going (LOL!)?
1. Ditto.

16 team so-called "super conferences" ???
You all do realize that this means you get to play 7 conference games against your own division, and MAYBE 1 game against the other division. More likely, they'll simply do 5 non-conf games to soften up the schedules. Super conferences in football is a bad idea. If Mizzou and Nebraska leave, with OU, Texas, and others join the SEC, you won't see cross-division games like Tex vs. Florida, or OU vs. Georgia.
