The Bowls So Far (As of Tuesday)
Published: 12/26/2006 4:26 PM
Last Modified: 12/26/2006 4:26 PM

Our pointspread record through seven games is 5-2.

That good enough for you people?

It should have been 6-1; then the Hawaii quarterback threw something like a 110-yard touchdown pass with something like one second left versus Arizona State.

They say the Hawaii quarterback is an NFL prospect.

National Frisbee League?

The big bowl betting to date is going on Boise State and LSU.

The bowls so far have been as feared, or, horrible.

At the TCU bowl, there seemed to be more people on the field than in the stands.

Why doesn't the TCU coach get offered a real job?

TU football? We're confident that open competition at all spots will benefit the offense.

After last night, make it 6-2 against the point spread.

Has there ever been anything worse than these bowls?

We may select Notre Dame over LSU in what could be considered as one of the greatest picks ever.

Mr. Picker, I found your article this morning to be very entertaining. Your comments about the Independence Bowl were the most hilarious you have come up with in a long time. We should thank the Lord that Pat Jones has returned to Tulsa, the media needs his in-depth analysis

One thing I can't understand is the way you continue to scoff at Boise State. Your pal, John Klein, speaks very highly of them . . . as do most columnists. And, going from an eight point spread down to seven doesn't seem to be moving very much. What say we have a little wager for a libation of choice and I will take Boise with the points you suggested. And . . . while we are at it, I'll take LSU and two for another libation.

Congrats on you're bowl picks Picker--I hope you've been putting your money where your mouth is. I'm 3-0 on the ones I have bet. I agree with you on Boise, OU should roll.

I've mainly written to mention something from the OKC Animals. The more I listen to the supporting cast, the smarter the Ultimate seems. Can you believe that in the last month, on two separate occasions, the call screener down there admitted to not knowing where the city of Bartlesville is, and worse, to never hearing of Carrie Underwood until a week ago. And he was serious! I thought Bin Laden was the only one living in a cave...

Gene, Gene, the picking machine: Maybe you better sit down.

You may be right.

I no longer love OU minus 7.

Somebody made a great point -- that after layoffs, OU plays poorly on offense.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
