The Field Will Keep Retreating at Open
Published: 6/15/2007 6:55 PM

The field continued to retreat back to the pack on Friday and that's a trend that should continue on Saturday and Sunday.
Scores are likely to continue to soar as the weekend brings plenty of potential winners into the chase.
Angel Cabrera has the lead at even par with Bubba Watson right behind at 1-over-par.
But it is the guys further down the list like Tiger Woods, Geoff Ogilvy, Jim Furyk and Vijay Singh that would appear to be the most dangerous.
These are guys that know the pressures of the weekend of a major. They know how to close out big victories.
It doesn't take much to push you out of contention. One bad hole can be a double or triple bogey. That's why Watson admitted he purposely was playing for bogey on several holes.
Better to lose one shot on a hole instead of two or three.
Woods could be the guy to beat if he gets to the top fo the leaderboard on Saturday, or just a few shots out of it.
You can't be too far at Oakmont. It is too hard to make up shots with so few birdies out on the course.
So, keep your eyes on those players that are within a handful of shots this weekend.
