The 'Other' Guy With Swedish Ties

You knew someone with Swedish family members would be at the top of the leaderboard at the PGA Championship. But that person was not Tiger Woods, who is married to Swedish model Elin Nordegren. Instead, that person was Sweden-born Henrik Stenson, spawning cries of "who is that?" among those who don't follow the golf world closely. Stenson is among four people tied at the top of the leaderboard during the PGA's midpoint. The others aren't necessarily marquee names either. Billy Andrade. Tim Herron. Luke Donald, although he was a college star at Northwestern University. But lots of prime time players are lurking just below the leaders, creating the possibility that Southern Hills could have a big-name defending PGA champ when the tournament arrives in Tulsa next year. I was pulling for John Daly because he's good copy. It's easy to write interesting stories about interesting guys and Daly is about the farthest thing from a robot that you will find. Daly didn't make the cut. Halftime of the PGA is over and play has begun anew on Saturday morning. Anybody want to bet against the guy with the Swedish wife?
