The Thunder Is Fine

Westbrook was horrible. He didn't even hit the rim solidly.

Durant said he'd bet his house Westbrook would shoot better than 3 for 15. Presumably, he has three houses.

There's not a whole you can do about somebody shooting 110 percent from the field. Those shots barely hit the net, they hit the hole.

But the one causing the most trouble was the short Dallas player who somehow doesn't get shots blocked in there.

The Thunder got nothing from its inside people. That has to stop immediately.

Not to add too much pressure, but game two Thursday night is everything.

But What Do I Know? (last year)
I don't know what you do when the little guy runs between Nowitzki's legs and heads to the basket or puts up a 3. I doubt that many players have practiced against that kind of screen.

Wow, Picker, look who jumped on the Westbrook hater bandwagon. Glad you could climb aboard.

Westbrook's points or lack thereof don't bother me nearly as much as his assist to turnover ratio does. He has to find a way to put his teammates in scoring positions against that zone.

It's hard to stop the tiny guy from getting to the paint when the Mav's big man demands attention on the perimeter. At the same time, Scott Brooks should be teaching the Thunder bigs the proper way to hedge on a screen to keep Barea from driving so easily.

I do agree about Game 2, Pick. I believe whoever wins this game will win the series.

Tonight is the season for the Thunder...almost.
Hopefully, Dirk and Barea don't combine for 69 points.
Hopefully, Russell Westbrook is not gonna go 3-15 from the field and turn the ball over driving through 3 Mavs in the lane.
Hopefully, Scott Brooks will never put Nate Robinson in the game, much less to attempt to guard J.J. Barea, who as we all saw, made Lil Nate look like a piece of petrified wood.
Hopefully, the Thunder's bench won't get outscored two-to-one by the Mav's bench, again.

Basically it comes down to this reality...the Mavericks are playing the best basketball of any team in the playoffs...and the Thunder are playing like they need a couple more ice cream seasons before they can legitimately contend for an NBA title.

"the Thunder are playing like they need a couple more ice cream seasons before they can legitimately contend for an NBA title...."

Stupid, stupid, stupid....

I think that if you win two rounds in the NBA playoffs, you would be considered a legitimate contender for the title at the time that you do it....

All Dallas did was play above their heads, they don't play like that every game....

Hopefully the OKC coach realized that midget guarding midget doesn't work especially when the Dallas midget actually gets bonafide real game playing time & not garbage minutes like the OKC midget does....

All the THUNDER have to do is do what got them there, nothibg new, nothing experimental.... Coaches always tell their players to believe & trust in one another, well, the coach has to trust & believe in his players also....

Play tougher, play stronger, play smarter & if the Dallas effort is more than the THUNDER's then DALLAS deserves to play for the NBA CHAMPIONSHIP....

If the THUNDER maximizes their effort & loses, that's OK, Dallas will move on & the THUNDER go on vacation BUT I DO BELIEVE that IF the THUNDER plays to their capabilities they are the better team.... That goes to COACHES as well as PLAYERS....

Dallas has a better coach, they have quality players, a couple future hall of famers.... Can't do nothing about the coaching matchup BUT as far the players are concerned, the OLD men of Texas will deteriorate & fall ingloriously to the THUNDER as the series plays on every other day....

Tulsa indian...I agree with your comments but I still think the Thunder are a year or two away from possibly winning it all. By the way, I have season tickets and would love to agree with you on this year's team, but I can't get to that point yet with this young team. I suppose 'stupid' is as 'stupid' does...
