The cost of losing

Before last Saturday's game at Texas Tech, someone from OU said he thought the Mortal Combat or whatever they were uniforms the Sooners wore would be auctioned off.
Three hours later, the jokes were rolling across the West Texas prairie like tumbleweeds...
"I was gonna bid, but I couldn't tell that they were really game-worn."
"Maybe they could use the money to start a recruiting budget."
"What do you think you could get for a set after the Sooners' loss -- a buck ninety-five?"
Credit Mike Jones of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for that last dig. Jonesy also came up with an alternative to the auction, given what transpired:
"Better to burn 'em."
