The day after Texas Tech

Wow. Texas Tech's offense was that efficient and that proficient. The Red Raiders did whatever they wanted offensively in crushing Oklahoma State 56-20 on Saturday night.
Wow. OSU's defense picked the wrong game to revert back to its previous form. The Cowboys had no answers for Tech's offense. And, for the first time this season, the OSU offense did not have the needed responses.
Wow. It was a bad night all the way around for the Cowboys. Tech is darn good – maybe Big 12 championship good. OSU is not as bad as it displayed against Tech. Still, it was a bad time to play a bad game with so much at stake.
The Cowboys need to forget about this one and move on.
Games balls
***Brandon Pettigrew: Yes, the senior tight end's fumble at midfield early in the third quarter was critical and quashed any comeback hopes the Cowboys had. Pettigrew, though, was just one of a few OSU players who had a decent game.
***Kendall Hunter: Spud was effective running the ball, gaining 112 yards on 17 carries. Too bad the Cowboys were playing from behind for the entire game for the ground game to truly make a difference.
Cowboy checklist
***The opinion coming out of Saturday night is this is the best Tech offense under Mike Leach. That contributed to OSU's showing defensively. Still, was it a one-time deal or a harbinger of things to come in Bedlam?
***Dez Bryant has been sensational in Stillwater. But away from home is another story. Bryant has not scored a touchdown on the road this year, and has not been productive from the get-go in three Big 12 road games.
***Forgetting the past: The Texas Tech game is over. Big 12 title aspirations are done. But there is still a lot that can be accomplished for the Cowboys. That needs to be OSU's goal now.
