Think Saturday night's TCU rematch is, to quote the cliche, "just another game" for the Oklahoma Sooners?
Nearly a month ago, I spoke with defensive tackle Cory Bennett about the season opener against Chattanooga. Not five minutes into the conversation, though, Bennett had flashed back to his first game as a Sooner, the 2005 opener against TCU.
"I was nervous, man, nervous as ever," he said. "It just so happens the first game I ever played was against TCU, and we lost. That was the first time we had lost at home in a really, really long time.
"That's why I'm kind of excited about the schedule. Because they're coming back here. It's more like a personal redemption thing for me."
It's a personal redemption thing for all of OU's upperclassmen, whether they admit to it publicly or not.
