Thunder Crumbs

Fine. Bring it. Toss us the leftovers. We'll take all autographs, including the last guy on the bench.

Just kindly remember who sold out the joint for a practice game in the middle of October if the Lakers come to life and win the west. We in Tulsa will be there for you if and when the Norman and Edmond posers lose interest.

The Lakers are a stretch in more ways than one. The old Nash Rambler (Steve) spends more time on the rack getting his back stretched than he does on the court. Who is Nash going to guard, a mascot? Kobe is 62 years of age. Doesn't the new Laker center has a bad back, a bad neck, a bad arm, a bad shoulder, and a bad head?

The area of concern for the Thunder is still inside where Perkins wishes he was five years younger and had spent more time practicing shooting.

We're even rolling out the bucks for the practice session in Bixby Thursday evening. Get this: to get in to the lousy PRACTICE, you have to buy a season ticket to Tulsa's D-League team!

Fine. Swell. Great. We have the gear. We know the players. We're on board, in the boat, we're content in the wings. Just remember this. All those season ticket holders wearing western wear according to Neimans turned on OU when it was losing games.

In another note, there is still lots of football left. Yay!

So fans in Tulsa are much better fans than fans in the OKC area?

That must explain why, the week after TU's win at Notre Dame, maybe the biggest win in the program's history, all of 13,000 fans wandered around the emptiness of the stands at whatever Skelly Stadium is called these days to see TU play Rice.

Yeah, baby! Tulsans fill those seats!

It's the Norman/Edmond Thunder, not OKC.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
