Thunderdogs?

OKC fans prepare for some shocking analysis: The Thunder could be going about the post-playoff period all wrong!

You can only get so good through the draft. You can be very, very good, as is the Thunder. But to be great, you have to go the way of all recent title holders: You must fill in the holes with masterpiece trades. Miami, Boston, the Lakers, even the Bulls and Celts of yesteryear, they all added key pieces through brilliant trades. San Antonio is about the only one to draft a title. And that team just got old fast.

And you don't need to sign stiffs averaging two points per game, either.

The Thunder appears to be adding to its bricklaying union with the addition of the tall center from Ucon, the guy who makes Perkins look like an offensive whiz.

Here is what the Thunder needs: Inside scoring help. Outside guarding help. The inside scorer needs to consistently make shots from the free throw line. The outside guard needs to be able to stay reasonably near LeBron.

A better offense might help also.

Miami is already looking to get even better with Boston's Allen. The Lakers are willing to turn over their roster to get better. The Brooklyn owner is made of money and fears no luxury tax.

The same returning players don't always get better because you want them to.

Sit still and get passed.

Speaking of offenses, I wonder why every team doesn't use the triangle offense since it has won 11 championships. In football, everyone went to the West Coast offense after the 49ers won their titles. Would like to see OKC in an offense like that instead of playing one on one the entire game.
