Tiger Fires One Last Warning Shot

Tiger Woods fired a warning shot over the heads of the PGA Champioinship field on Sunday.
The message was clear. His game is on. It will take more than an average week at Southern Hills Country Club.
In a final tuneup before the start of the final major of the season in Tulsa on Thursday, Woods went low. Really low.
He virtually lapped the field, winning by a whopping eight shots, in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitrational at Akron on Sunday.
He entered the final round trailing leader Rory Sabbatini by a shot. However, his lead ballooned to six shots by the turn and he coasted home.
This wasn't just any tournament. This was a tournament with virtually every major player in the world.
Plus, the tournament was played at a golf course that is considered very similar to Southern Hills.
As we've said before, there's nothing at Southern Hills that makes it any different than the dozens of golf courses he's conquered in his career.
If he brings his A game with him this week to Tulsa, as he had on Sunday in Akron, then he wins at Southern Hills.
Woods hasn't won a major this season and there were some whispers he was having an off year.
Yet, he has been No. 1 in the world all season and he's finished second, second and 12th in the three majors this season.
In other words, he hasn't gone anywhere. He is still front and center at the top of golf.
On Sunday, he just sent out a little reminder to the challengers.

John, good article. What can we do with Woody Austin, a self-serving blowhard(who oh by the way has 3 victories in his career). Wonder if there might be a tinge of racism-not just competitive fire there? I hope not, but Tiger represents good values in sports. He's not perfect, but I can support my 6 yr. old nephew who idolizes him. Woody Austin, shut up. Thanks, Tom P.S. Woody, do it with your sticks, not your mouth.
