Everyone expects Tiger Woods to win the Masters today. Will that occur, or will Augusta National be turned into Augusta International?
Woods is only one shot back and will play in the final group with Stuart Appleby. Keep in mind that the Masters champ has come out of the final group each of the last 16 years.
For the first time, international players outnumbered U.S. players at the Masters. After the cut, U.S. players were still outnumbered by a count of 32-28.
Three of the the top seven players on the leaderboard are Americans -- Woods, Zach Johnson and Vaughn Taylor. The other four are leader Stuart Appleby (Australia), Padraig Harrington (Ireland), Justin Rose (England) and Bradley Dredge (Wales).
The U.S. gets kicked around in the Ryder Cup. Let's see if the Americans can defend their home turf at Augusta National.

zach thompson is a great story at a great venue on a great day. even better would have been tiger to be in second by himself so the there would have been an american 1-2 finish.

Tulsa World sports writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. He is the OSU basketball beat writer and a columnist and feature writer during football season. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
