Tiger's Victory Even More Impressive Now

The fact that Tiger Woods played and won the U.S. Open with injuries so severe he will miss the rest of the season just adds to his legend.
Woods, making his comeback after knee surgery eight weeks ago, hobbled around Torrey Pines and won the tournament with 19 extra holes.
That's 91 holes on a an ACL injury and stress fracture of his leg.
Any doubt that he is more than just a great player are now gone. He's a golfing superman.
Woods will not return until next spring. One has to wonder how he will be different and how his game will change.
But, hobbling around the U.S. Open last week, was one last glimpse of him for this year and it was phenomenal.
Just think. Playing injured this season, he won five tiems in seven tries and over $6 million in earnings.
Since he first injured himself last year, he won nine tournaments and two majors.
So, consider what you saw last summer in the PGA Championship in Tulsa one of the best performances ever by an athlete.
