Travis Ford's Sweet Ride

No player on the Oklahoma State basketball roster has ever beaten Kansas in Phog Allen Fieldhouse. In fact, that could be said of many OSU basketball rosters.
The last OSU victory in Lawrence pre-dates the Eddie Sutton era. The Cowboys are 0-for-Phog since a Leonard Hamilton-coached squad won there in 1989.
But someone on the current OSU hoops squad has tasted victory in Lawrence. That would be head coach Travis Ford, who won there when he was a backup freshman point guard at Missouri.
"That was many moons ago," Ford said.
Missouri swept two games from KU in Ford's only season as a Tiger. After one of the victories, some of his teammates chipped in to rent a limo and they took a celebration cruise.
"The Missouri-Kansas rivalry, it’s a big rivalry," he said. "We went in there (to Lawrence) ranked No. 1 and No. 2. I still say it is definitely one of the best crowds I have ever seen, no question about it."
Ford will make his first trip to Allen Fieldhouse as OSU's head coach Saturday. If the Cowboys can pull of an upset and upgrade their NCAA Tournament resume, Ford might be in a good enough mood to take another limo ride.
