Another Ford could be joining the men’s basketball program at Oklahoma State.
Late Tuesday, coach Travis Ford’s nephew Ford Stuen tweeted: “Proud to announce I'm going to be a part of the Oklahoma State basketball family. Go Cowboys!”
It is unknown what role Stuen, a 6-foot-2 guard originally from Kentucky, would have with the team. According to the Evansville (Ky.) Courier Press, he had the option of joining the Cowboys as a walk-on out of high school but instead enrolled at a Florida prep school.
“I’m not ready to quit playing, basically,” he told the paper last year. “To play in the Big 12 or even to just be a part of it would be great, but I’d like to get to the point where it would be as a scholarship player.”
As a senior at Henderson County High School, Stuen averaged 19.3 points per game. He spent the past year at IMG Basketball Academy, also attended by Kamari Murphy, a 6-8 forward who signed with OSU last fall, and former Cowboy center Teeng Akol.
