Tressel Deserved to be Ousted
Published: 5/30/2011 10:35 AM

Former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel knew exactly what the rules were, knew he was breaking the rules and still decided to cheat.
Tressel deserved to be fired, forced out or whatever.
Tressel lost his right to be a college football coach when he knowingly broke the rules and lied about it.
If some college athlete doesn’t know the rules and elects to lie about it, he can lose his right to play college sports.
Coaches should be held to a higher standard. It it their job to know the rules.
Tressel knew there were violations in his football program and elected to keep it a secret.
Then, he lied about it.
Plus, he tried to pretend that he was doing the right thing by offering up a five-game suspension.
Please. Tressel violations were worthy of termination.
Ohio State should be ashamed that it went on this long. He should have been gone months ago.

Word from ESPN is that Tressel's "Legal People" & Ohio State were trying to get the terms of his resignation ironed out.

Apparently, this took weeks.

What were they working out? How far up the door knob should be lodged?

Even though I am an LSU Alum...I don't have to wonder about the level of Vitrol, if (this) had been against the Sooners & Stoops.
It would have been over weeks ago!

Those players would have been kicked of the OU squad a long time ago. I don't think Stoops and OU's AD or President would have put up with that stuff.
