Trouble in All Star-Land

The OU basketball team is 50-50 to make the tournament.
The NCAA tournament?
No way, get serious, try again, it is 50-50 to make the NIT.
The OU team is full of prep all stars, which raises numerous questions.
Are all prep all stars who travel from far away a higher risk than tough-minded local or area prospects?
Is moving a prep all star a long way from home a good idea?
The current OU team is comprised of big prep all stars jacking threes, and little prep all stars looking for help defensively.
Here's a solid thought. When a player in any sport is well-regarded by the pros, and is considered to be a first-round pro football pick, or a top ten or 20 pro hoop pick, never, ever, once, ever, under any circumstance, never even think about for a second: coming back to college for another year!
When a hot pro prospect returns to college for another year, the ones apt to benefit: the college coach, the college athletic department.
In college, greed rocks and rolls.
As long as the foul BCS system and the vile one-and-done hoop plan skim from the talent, go pro kids, go pro.

I hear ya about OU Picker, but did you see the photo on the front page of the sports section? Judging by the celebration, OSU apparently won the national championship by beating La Salle yesterday. Who knew?
The Picker

Yeah, and the OSU homer on the Sports Animal radio network of cheerleaders, which has a local rating just below the Asparagus Hour on the Veggie Channel, said that the OSU basketball team should have beaten Tulsa.
TU beat OSU by what, 40?
This just in about the very popular LaSalle. He discovered the Great Lakes, something like that.

And another thing, the All College tournament is a joke. It isn't even a tournament.
Why does OSU get a trophy for winning one game? Did UTEP also get a big, fat trophy? Who didn't get a trophy?
Nobody even went to the games. They should move it to Tulsa. The Thunder is hurting college basketball, namely, OU.

Coach just goes through the catalog and circle's the players he wants.
No need to visit, or look under the rug.

Picker,
You are an idiot.... I am sure the BOK would've been rocking for OU at 5:30 on a Monday night...
The Thunder hasn't killed anything.
Don't look now, but the Thunder are averaging over 17k a game and already booked 7 sell outs! Guess they will be around for more than 3 years as many of you predicted.
OU attendance is actually up compared to last year... so you are wrong again.
Maybe all those tulsans waiting to support the olympics could pack a TU home football or basketball game (yeah right) or at least show up for a Oilers game:(

Picker you are right about the NIT deal, but I'm puzzled by your "long way from home" comment in regards to OU's "prep all stars". I'm assuming you're speaking of Warren, Mason-Griffin and Gallon. All 3 are from Texas. I wouldn't call that a "long way". Gallon did play HS ball at Oak Hill in Virginia, but his true home town is Humble, Texas.

Haven't you heard JG? We now have the WNBA, so apparently we're a big-time pro sports town just like you guys. It's supposed to be huge, and since OKC is the largest city in the state, I think it is only fitting that it have the most big-time franchise, so we'd be willing to work an even swap right now just because we're nice. They say it's very exciting and extremely fast-paced. Better hurry before it blows up and we have to pull our offer.
So Capel is supposed to recruit average players, hope they get real good, then encourage them to leave. Grrrrrrreat formula for success. Always with the answers from the La-Z-Boy, huh Pick?

Capels first year - without young Griffin- 15-16. First year since his first without a Griffin, they absolutely stink. Can Capel coach or not? He has more McDonald's AA's on his current roster than Samspon had in 12 seasons...
