Tulsa Finding Ways to Lose
Published: 11/21/2009 11:09 PM

The one constant in the six-game losing streak for Tulsa has been the Golden Hurricane had chances to win all of them.
TU has found ways to lose games in the second half.
A close game with East Carolina turned into a rout in the fourth quarter.
A wild offensive game with Southern Miss was won by the Golden Eagles when Tulsa started imploding near the Southern Miss end zone in the second half of Saturday night's 44-32 loss.
That's not to say Tulsa hasn't deserved to lose these games. The Hurricane played lousy defense, gave up huge chunks of yards in kick returns and had two big turnovers against the Golden Eagles.
It has been a bad second half that doomed TU against UTEP, SMU, Houston, East Carolina and Southern Miss.
Of course, some of it was lack of defense. Some of it was turnovers. Some of it was offensive mistakes.
There is no one area that is to blame for the recent slide into the off season without a bowl.
TU coach Todd Graham will have plenty of time this winter to figure out what needs work.
From this view, it would appear Tulsa could use some improvement in just about all areas.
A few things here and there and perhaps the Hurricane will be back in the Conference USA race next season.
