Tulsa Picks up Where Left Off

Tulsa looked like it has not missed a beat since last season.
The Golden Hurricane came out and did exactly what you want to do when you have high expectations.
TU was doing everything it wanted in the first half as the Hurricane took a 31-0 lead over Stephen F. Austin on Thursday night at Skelly Stadium.
Tulsa closed strong last season and opened with just as impressive of an outing in the first 30 minutes of its season opener.
Sure, it is hard to tell much when you are playing a Division I-AA team picked to finish last in its conference.
Still, Tulsa did everything you would have hoped in the first half.
It had plenty of offense. It never had to punt. It scored four touchdowns and a field goal.
The third team running back had a pair of fabulous touchdowns.
In fact, that would be the only debate of the first half. Courtney Tennial, the former Glenpool star who transferred from Oklahoma, gave notice early in this game that he is going to be difficult to leave off the field.
Even in a backfield with plenty of talented running backs, Tennial had some eye-opening plays.
If the first half of this game is any indication, Tulsa may be in for a lot of fun this fall. The Hurricane was everything advertised during the first 30 minutes of the season.
