Tulsa has Chance to Make Some Noise

The 15-point victory over East Carolina was expected but Tulsa's business-like approach to the game was encouraging.
The Golden Hurricane is hoping to set the tone for the remainder of the year, hopefully an NIT bid, at the Conference USA Tournament.
Beating East Carolina was the start we expected. Perhaps, even the lopsided score was to be expected against one of the worst teams in the country.
Still, it sets up an interesting couple of days if the Hurricane can play at peak form.
Tulane on Thursday night is a tossup game, the kind of game that could put a positive spin on the season and send TU into the offseason with some new-found enthusiasm.
It would also push Tulsa into a game against Memphis.
Any game against a national contender is great. Your highlights get on national television and all of the talk shows mention the game.
You can really do yourself some good and make it a statement game about the health of the TU program by winning.
That is a longshot at best. Still, anytime you play it is an opportunity.
At the end of the season Tulsa has made the most of its opportunities - winning five of the last six.
But winning just once more against Green Wave would make not only the players and coaches feel better, it would be a yet another signal to Tulsa fans that a four-year drought, since the 2003 team reached the NCAA's second round, may be nearing an end.
