Tulsa's 40-hour Sprint to NCAAs
Published: 3/11/2011 10:28 AM

Tulsa did what it had to do in beating Rice.
Nothing fancy. Just basic basketball and a solid victory in the Conference USA quarterfinals.
The Golden Hurricane was not dominating but ran away to an 81-72 victory Thursday night.
Now, the hard part starts.
First up is UTEP.
The Miners are a senior-dominated team playing on their home court.
That is a big challenge but teams have to win these kind of games to get in the NCAA Tournament.
Then, if TU can figure out a way to beat UTEP, it will play the finals at 10:30 a.m. (Tulsa time) on Saturday.
Starting with the late game on Thursday night, that would be three games in roughly 40 hours.
That is a big hurdle to clear.
Still, the way Tulsa has played lately should give it a chance.
It won’t be easy but they don’t give out NCAA Tournament bids for nothing. You’ve got to earn it.
TU will have to do it the hard way.

It depends on Idlet, Richard and Magley. If those guys play smart basketball then TU has a chance.
