UH's Sumlin, OSU's Young meet again, sort of

Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Bill Young and Houston head coach Kevin Sumlin have something in common besides a date with each other this weekend.
They were among finalists for the University of Tulsa's head coaching job in 2003.
The job ultimately went to Steve Kragthorpe and you can't argue with the hire since Kragthorpe immediately put the Golden Hurricane back on a path toward respectability.
Young, Sumlin and Kragthorpe are among six men who interviewed for the TU position, according to the Tulsa World's archives. The others were then-South Carolina defensive coordinator Charlie Strong, then-North Dakota State coach Bob Babich and then-Illinois State coach Denver Johnson.
Whatever happened to those guys? Strong is Florida's defensive coordinator. Babich is an assistant with the Chicago Bears. And Johnson is an assistant at Colorado.
Kragthorpe, of course, moved on to Louisville. And Young and Sumlin will cross paths Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium.
Sumlin name-dropped Young during a press conference this week. Said Sumlin, “I have a tremendous amount of respect for Bill Young. I’ve known him for a long time; he is a really good head coach."
Question: Did Sumlin really refer to Young as a "head coach." Or did Sumlin really say Mike Gundy and the names got garbled during the transcription process?
