WNBA Knows How to Put on Good Show

You have to say this about the WNBA. Just like the NBA, it knows how to put on a show.
The Tulsa Shock gave its new fans a preview of the non-stop action of the WNBA on Saturday night.
It would be even better if the Shock could find some offense.
Tulsa got beat down by Minnesota, 80-74, in the first-ever WNBA game in Tulsa on Saturday night.
This much is obvious. The WNBA has a chance to catch on in Tulsa because it is a fun and entertaining evening.
But, eventually, fans want to watch a winner and the Shock appears to be a long ways from being a competitive team in the WNBA.
Tulsa will have to be much better at running Nolan Richardson’s 40 minutes of hell and shoot better.
Until that happens, and that might take a while, the Shock will have to continue to put on a good show.
A sellout crowd seemed to enjoy all of the activity before, during and after the game. That should serve the Shock well until it becomes a better team.

Expansion teams are notorious for taking a while to gel, especially in the WNBA as many team members travel back to the U.S. from abroad just days before the opener. That said, it wasn't a blowout - not even close. So go Shock! You are Tulsa and we support you!

I'm hoping to relocate to Tulsa before long, and I will be cheering on the team. Just call me a soon-to- be Shockaholic.
