Waiting game

Hey gang out there in Tulsa World.com blogosphere. Checking in from Stillwater after the first weekly press conference involving OSU players and coaches Mike Gundy, Larry Fedora and Vance Bedford.
Nothing revealing came from this session today. My tag-team partner on the OSU beat, Bill Haisten, and I calculated we put nearly 4,200 miles on a rental car for 22 trips over to Payne County this month for practices and interviews. The questions we've asked to members of the OSU program have changed. But their responses typically have remained the same.
Gundy continues to state the Cowboys are a better football team than they were a year ago. Fedora states for the 200th time that the game has slowed down considerably for quarterback Bobby Reid. Bedford emphasizes again that his defense must force more turnovers.
Reid anxiously awaits Saturday night's opener against Missouri State to demonstrate that he can operate this offense. Darnell Smith will tell anyone that the defense will show marked improvement from last season. D'Juan Woods wants to extract the losing feeling from his system and return to the winning ways. Last season was the first time Woods ever played on a football team that finished with a losing record.
Truthfully, we all are waiting for game day to arrive so we can have something new to write and talk about.
Five days and counting until kickoff. The Cowboys can't wait. Neither can we.
