True, the state fair is going on, but I don't think that had a major impact. The city of Tulsa has made it clear that TU football is not seen as a "must see" event. I'm sure some of you think that since this game was a national telecast, it should have been attended by a lot more people. The flip side of that is realizing that TU doesn't even play on TV very often, so getting to watch them on ESPN is an "event"
All this being said, Kragthorpe has done an outstanding job. The starting QB played high school football in Owasso, and I'm sure that many other players have very local ties as well. If local kids and a good team with an excellent coach won't fill the stands, it ain't gonna happen. It's like the Florida Marlins. Two World Series Championships, and they still can't get people to come see them.
