The mainstream media is short-sighted and overreacts to the obvious, which makes for great Mondays.

So it's time for another round of: What Story Did They Miss This Time?

It has to do with the Masters, won by What's-His-Face, who got the jacket from the head pro at Stepford C.C., Grinning Phil.

Tiger is one of the biggest chokers in the history of sports.

Best frontrunner, can't close, equals choke.

How can you hit a fairway wood 300 yards and then miss a two-foot putt?

Had Tiger shot Sunday's round Thursday, he'd have finished 30 under.

He appears to be close to his old self, swearing, spitting, spewing, dating non-geniuses, ignoring interviewers, succumbing to pressure.

With a wager on Tiger going zero for four in the Majors again this year, there were some tense moments, to be sure. But he almost won at the old fogey sanctuary last year, where the fairways are four blocks wide.

Fortunately, there are plenty of What's-Their-Names with thin waists and steady putters waiting in the wings.

Not a golfer are you picker?

Actually Frank, yes I am a golfer who was once suspended from a local club for thowing a golf bag into a pond. Sadly the bag floated. Not all golfer miss baby putts with the tournament on the line.

Drive for show, putt for dough

I can’t believe it.
Da’ Snicker actually now believes Tiger
can win another Major or two?

Tiger’s only got 20 or so more chances
@ Augusta where he’s won 4 times
& knows the course very well.
Many of the British Open courses have
“open’ drivable holes that suit Tiger’s game

It looks as though he’s “over”
his Paparazzi issues & is getting
close in getting his golf groove back.

He'll be competitive for the next 15 yrs in most Major's, that's like 60 more chances he'll have to 'earn ample opportunity to post a win.

It wouldn’t be surprising @ all IF
he added 4 or 5 more Major Titles before
he’s done.

Tiger almost won at that glorified muni course last year.....tighten the fairways, I still have a shot at beating him three more times.....right Gene?

The new Tiger is surlier than the old one.

Poor Tiger not only did he miss the 2 foot putt, then the announcers said it might have been because he had to wait tooooooo long, because the guy with him 3-putted. Not only is he a bum, so are the announcers covering for him. We all know that after sitting at a traffic light for an inordinate amount of time people forget to step on the gas to start propelling our little car forward.
It’s bad enough that even when he is out of contention, we have to see him every other shot, now announcers feel like they need to make excuses for him. Good riddance Tiger, have fun trying to stay relevant in something other then golf and bad commercials.

Speaking of shortsided, I find it fairly comical that the Pick still hasn't commented about his OKC Thunder remarks in the last blog.

Who...Knows Picker ??

It is obvious the Picker has not played any competitive golf. Maybe he should stick to baseball, the only sport he attempted in high school.

Mexi: What could he possibly say? Definitely one of his most misguided ones...hes probably waiting to say 'i told you so' when they dont win the whole deal...

I've got a question. Who cares about whatever Tiger Woods is doing? Not me. Lord, this time of year is booooooring.
Tulsan in Exile (last year)
I agree with taija50. I played Southern Hills a few times with my grandfather when I was a teenager. Had to wait and wait and wait behind 300-pounders in golf carts, spending 30 minutes on each hole. Decided right then and there that life is too short for golf. The only thing more boring than playing golf if watching other people play golf.

LMAO WebG, must be a sockpuppet, haha

The Thunder is accidentally a lot better. The trade for Perkins has made Obaka step up big-time. He's getting more minutes, displaying more skills. Perkins is more or less a bouncer. Forget who said it here in a response, but the other fellow who came in the trade is better. Still and all, if it's Denver in the first round, it's a a seven-gamer.

"The Picker" is unmatched among recent-day regional sports commentators - bold. often prescient, gifted as a writer. Clearly, the most interesting to read. Case in point: His analysis of the unhappy Mr. Woods.

Who is Tiger, and who is Mister Woods?
He obviously is no longer can deliver the goods.
From hole number one to hole number nine he burned up the course,
Ten to eighteen left him full of remorse.

US Open is at Congressional, acourse he 'owns'
Maybe he'll come back and make his 'bones'
Tiger maybe has no fire and now it's time for him to retire.

RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tiger played well during the Master's. Sometimes, those short putts are the toughest shots to make in golf, especially under that kind of pressure. The guys that finished ahead of him played even better. Finishing at ten under is a great tournament, just not good enough. Give credit to Schwartzel, who birdied his final four holes.

When you're driving the ball three hundred yards, you don't have to account for how hard or soft you need to hit the ball. You hit the golf ball as hard as you can. When you're putting, you have to account for how hard or soft you putt the ball. You can't just putt the ball as far as you can. Putting is especially difficult in major tournaments when you have to putt uphill or downhill either on the green or slightly off the green.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
