Why Didn't the OU Dropouts Win A Big One?
Published: 10/26/2012 3:56 PM

It has come as a surprise to all but OSU fans that the OU football team under Bob Stoops has flunked in the classroom.

A shocking set of statistics reveals that under Stoops, the OU football team has graduated about the same percentage as the Beer Drinking Team, or, around 50 percent on average.

It's no wonder the OU coach has decided not to take calls on his radio show.

Why isn't this story on front pages everywhere?

Where is a comment from Boren and his merry Merit scholars?

More to the point, if you recruited people like that, how in the world have you kept from bringing home a national championship?!

Pick: This isn't hard to figure. The coach formerly known as Big Game Bob has had to suspend far too many players in recent years to win a national championship. You see stupid players make stupid decisions. Also, there has been too many players, and recent recruits, who were not academically eligible. Of course, if the Sooners beat Notre Dame tomorrow, all is forgiven and forgotten, and people like me will demand that the OU regents give Stoops a raise. As the saying goes: Just win, Bobby, I mean Baby.

I don't think it matters much to ESPN, so must be a non-issue. Maybe someday, we'll be honest and admit that the the average fan doesn't care if these kids pass any classes. It's all about the money.

Last in the nation in football graduates.
Where IS Boren?

And he makes 4 million a year to act like a jerk to media questions and produce these rates! All from a state funded university...ridiculous.

The Pick must be getting near retirement. He fielded his balls again. GREAT POST!

How foolish of us to think that football players are STUDENT athletes and want a college education.

If academics meant anything in college sports, then we all would be watching the Harvards, Yales, Princetons play on Saturdays. Personally, I don't care if players graduate, though I would like them too. It's their choice if they to pursue a degree. Remember, you play to win the game...

A national embarrassment.

At least they aren't wearing those Orange jumpsuits! Calvin Barnett couldn't qualify at Arkansas, but one year at a JC makes him a "college student" at OSU? Tracy Moore has 3 arrests in 5 months? give me a break. Most schools use walk ons and 3rd team O lineman to pad their academic credentials, it's all a big joke, and that is sad.
