Wildlife regulations comment period opens Monday
Published: 12/1/2012 11:28 AM

Beginning Monday Oklahoma hunters and anglers will be able to register their opinions online on a list of proposed new hunting and fishing rule changes.

Most notable among the list of hunting and fishing rule changes is a proposal on the structure of the combined season deer harvest limit to include no more than two antlered deer, one of which must be taken with archery equipment. Only one antlered deer will be allowed during deer muzzleloader and gun seasons combined.

Another proposal would prohibit transporting live bait from one body of water to another in the state.

To view a complete listing of proposed rule changes or to complete an online comment form, log on to tulsaworld.com/wildlife (or click HERE) beginning Monday. The comment period remains open until 4:30 p.m. Jan. 11.

Written comments will be accepted by mail until Jan. 11 at the Wildlife Department's main office in Oklahoma City (P.O. Box 53465, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73152).

The Wildlife Department also will be hosting a public hearing on proposed rule changes at 7 p.m., Jan. 8 at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation headquarters auditorium in Oklahoma City, 1801 N. Lincoln Blvd.

To kill transporting live bait will kill guide fishing for hybrids. Sooner and Skiatook have marginal forage and hard to net bait.

I wonder if that means you can't buy minnows any more. :)
Like our comments will change anything. The wildlife professionals have already decided what they are going to do.
I can't pull a bow anymore to take a second deer. That means I can only take one antlered deer.

And I am not going to take a deer with black powder if that means I can't hunt with a rifle too.

No to all changes, so far.

He comes to Green Country with two beautiful daughters, an extraordinarily tolerant wife, and an 11-year-old female black Labrador retriever named Tag, who knows she's actually the brains behind everything that Kelly does.
