Will Urban punish Jerry?

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, after taking too many drinks of truth serum, was caught on amateur video bashing former coach Bill Parcells and ex-Florida quarterback Tim Tebow.

Or was Jones bashing Tebow? In the video, someone asks Jones if he would consider using a third-round pick on the quarterback. Said Jones, “Why? He’d never get on the field. I can’t get him out there.”

Tebow wouldn’t get on the field because the job of Cowboys quarterback is already taken. So, honestly, there’s no real insult in Jones’ statement. But I’ll be disappointed if Urban Meyer doesn’t ban Jones from attending Florida practices.

He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. He is the OSU basketball beat writer and a columnist and feature writer during football season. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
