Winning close is better than losing close for OU

Oklahoma keeps winning games. It may not have been pretty. And, it certainly wasn’t easy.
But, the Sooners beat Texas 28-20 and took command of the Big 12 Conference South Division on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl.
Forget all of the talk about bad fourth quarters and the chances OU gave Texas at the end of Saturday’s game.
All that really matters is that Oklahoma won for the fifth time in five games.
Yes, four of those games have been a struggle.
Even OU coach Bob Stoops joked about getting back to OU football by “being criticized for winning”.
Good quote and probably accurate.
He said winning these close games is better than losing close games like the Sooners did last year.
The Sooners, for all of the troubles in four of these victories, remains unbeaten and the team to beat in the Big 12.
That, as much as anything, is reason for OU fans to be smiling.

Et tu, Klein? How has OU taken "command" of anything? They, like OSU and Baylor, are 1-0 in league play. OU beat a struggling, now 2-loss Texas squad. Only the media considers that a monumental achievement.

Yeah we'll see how "struggling" UT is when you Aggies blow another second half lead down in Austin this year. Impressive win by Baylor.

Two muffed punts to seal wins in back to back weeks. This team is living very dangerously right now, and law of averages says the bubble will burst sooner rather than later.

Ya know... The part of me that almost had a heart attack yesterday wants to agree with sctsports, but the part of me that remembers "Sooner Magic" at A&M and at OSU in 2000 gives me pause... Sometimes you've just got the karma with you... I'm hoping that's what happens...

And patentwilk - Shut up... Everyone knows that the South comes down to OU and Texas until another team steps up and shows that's not the case... OSU has not done that, and neither has (or will) Baylor...

The South is decided differently each year. The fact that OU or UT has won it the last several years has absolutely nothing to do with which team has "command" of this season's title. Three teams are undefeated in the South. Those teams control their own destiny. That's it. Of course the OU propaganda machine and its brethren of ignorant fans fail to appreciate that.

Coach Stoops says," now we will get criticized for winning." I, like a lot of Sooner fans I'm sure, are not complaining about winning. That's absurd. What I get upset about is with the talent we have, we should be playing like the top teams. So Big 12 title maybe, nice bowl, sure. But a BCS title shot, not the way we're playing. That's what we Sooner fans gripe about coach.

OU has taken command in the Big 12 South by beating Texas. No one else in the Big 12 had done that since Texas Tech in 2008! Almost 2 years! It's not easy beating Texas. That's why no one else has done it! GO SOONERS!

The Sooners will go undefeated.Nuff said.
