Without Dez Bryant, OSU gets it done at Kyle Field

Dez Bryant will not participate in Saturday's Big 12 opener at Texas A&M. Kendall Hunter probably won't.

The 15th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys face Texas A&M without two-thirds of what had been hailed as perhaps the premier quarterback-running back-wide receiver combination in college football.

Zac Robinson is healthy, but Hunter is injured and Bryant is suspended.

And then there is this stat: Over the previous five seasons, OSU is 1-10 in games played in the state of Texas.

For the Cowboys, there doesn't seem to be great potential for a fun Saturday at Kyle Field.

On Thursday, I submitted my college football predictions for Saturday's World. During the morning, I was determined to pick Texas A&M. During the afternoon, I wavered. Tonight, after writing an update on the Bryant-NCAA situation and while watching the second half of Nebraska's win at Missouri, I settled on my prediction.

Oklahoma State 23, Texas A&M 20.

There are signs that OSU's offensive line is about to reach a high level of performance. Bill Young seems genuinely confident that his Cowboy defense can make winning plays.

Without Bryant and Hunter, there won't be as many highlight moments, but this A&M team is average at best. OSU finds a way to prevail in College Station.
