Worst of the Worst

In Thursday night's NBA playoff game, the following standards were established.
Worst free throw shooting by somebody who can't shoot free throws: Howard, Orlando.
Worst free throw shooting by somebody who can shoot free throws: Hedo, Orlando.
Fourth worst coaching performance ever: Van Gundy, Orlando, for taking out guard Alston.
Third worst coaching performance ever: Van Gundy, Orlando, for keeping Alston out and playing the four-foot tall guard.
Second worst coaching performance ever: Van Gundy, Orlando, for not being able to get off an inbounds play THREE times.
Worst coaching performance ever: Van Gundy, for not fouling when up by three.
Teams fouling when up by three NEVER LOSE. ONCE. EVER.
Van Gundy, Orlando, should resign.

I'm sure the research is out there; and I'm just to busy to do it...but I want to see actual states on this "teams up by 3 never lose" bit. Give me good solid stats, from a respected source.
Come on picker, you don't have a life; you have time to sit in your basement and find that stuff. Prove it to us unknowing simpletons.
But yeah, Nelson should have walked under Howard's legs and to the bench long before Fisher used him.

The Picker does sound like he lost some. Hurry up Football Season, the time to beat the Picker is easily now!

All Orlando has to do is make their free throws in regulation and they win the game. It's that simple. With that being said, I'd rather have Rafer Alston out there than Jameer Nelson. Why? Because Alston can actually score points and is more athletic than Nelson.

On fouling when up three, the team that fouls before the shot wins the game most of the time. It did help one time when Minnesota fouled Indiana. IU made one, missed the second, and ended up getting a three-point play off that miss. Then, Minnesota made a shot at the buzzer to win the game. However, nearly all the time, it is safest to foul the team before the three-point shot.

I see the picker hit the nail on the head with his blog....
I love basketball but Thursday night made me sick & game 5 Sunday night, to see a team give up, man, that's not competition....
Thursday night was the biggest choke since Sacremento losing to the Lakers way back when when they had a 3-2 lead in the series....
It was a good playoff season overall until the final 2 games of the playoffs when Orlando choked and rolled over....R.Lewis, Hedo, Howard should be ashamed, Alston needs to play in Minnesota, that 4 foot guard ain't no Mugsy Bogues, Pietrus is just flat out stupid as a player....How did these guys get this far....
I'm glad it's over....

Haha, no thanks.

Out Pick The Picker
The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
