Wright stuff

TU freshman running back Dexter Taylor learned something about his high school football coach in 2003.
Taylor's high school coach was first-year Union head coach Kevin Wright, who won 71 games and three state championships at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis.
Wright's mother, Jayne, committed suicide during the 2003 season.
"He didn't take too much time off. He got right back to the team," Taylor said. "It was a family atmosphere, so we just tried to support him as much as we could. I learned that he is a very strong person mentally because, for a disaster like that, for you to be able to come back says a lot."
Taylor said Wright stayed strong and stayed positive while leading Warren Central to a state championship.
Wright is catching heck because of Union's 0-3 start, but Taylor believes his old coach can handle anything thrown his way.
"A loss in football, it's not that much because he has taken a bigger loss in life. I'm pretty sure he will bounce back. He is in a new atmosphere and I think they will turn out to be pretty good."
