You won't see a better game

This game even involved a national treasure.

Take a deep breath, step back for a moment, and just savor the game you just saw.
Sure, Oklahoma lost. It isn't a pleasant memory.
Still, what you saw in Monday's Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. was a game for the ages.
You may not see another game that good in all the years of watching football you have left.
It was an unbelievable finish.
It was unbelievable how OU got back in the game and then tied it. Then, it was ubelievable how the Sooners got the lead on an interception return.
All of the OU action to get back in it and on top came with less than 90 seconds left in the game.
It was not even close to over.
Boise State ran the hook-and-ladder to perfection to score a 50-yard touchdown on a fourth-and-18 with less than 10 seconds left to tie the game.
Then, Boise used a fourth-down halfback pass to get within 42-41 in the overtime.
Finally, there was the statue of liberty play to win the game on the two-point conversion.
This game had it all. Great comebacks. Great players making great plays. Shocking plays. Remarkable grit and determination.
Sure, it will always be better to remember a pleasant memory about a game the Sooners won – the kick to win at Ohio State in the 1970s come to mind pretty quick.
However, for just pure drama and excitement, nothing beats what I saw on Monday night.

What an outstanding performance by OU. This was the most thrilling football game we ever saw. OU fans will naturally be down about loosing but it should be worth it to have been a part of the most dazzeling football game in decades. This was a classic that for years will be brought up as an example of American collegiate football at it's best. To have been a part of it will be something for OU players to look back on with a pride. It may not feel like it now but it will later in life. Thanks, Sooners, for the privilage.
