Sutton to Missouri?
For a vacation?
We absolutely endorse it. Great fishing, decent roads, fewer than usual homicidal maniacs.
Enjoy.
What's that you say? Possibly to coach Mo basketball? Um. Let's put it this way. No comment.
Oh yeah. One more thing. We did a big-time hoop-ball pick yesterday. Flip back for a look. Right there in print. We took Uconn over San Diego State, which was favored in a virtual home game.
Uconn won.
We'll be sure and keep you posted on the next big vibe.

Come on, you're really bragging about that UConn pick? You gave no insight, analysis or reason for your pick other than everybody else was picking the other side. Are you taking Richmond and Marquette tonight too?

Listen pal, going opposite loudmouths Gottlieb and Vitale is brilliant handicapping.
You bet there's bragging going on over the genius Uconn pick.
Here's some insight: Best teams win.

Get real, at Mo Sutton would make about five times what he has made in all his time toiling for the South Lewis Cultists and all this in the three years it would take them to fire him.
The Picker

The question is not why would Sutton go to Mo.
The question relates to Mo's supposed interest.
Which happened on the Internet, which makes it so.

Yeah, you really went out on limb with that UConn pick Pick. Taking a perennial power who is arguably the hottest team in the country with a strong POY candidate and a HOF coach over an upstart mid-major is hardly something to brag about. It's quite pathetic actually.

Taking an underdog? On the road? Is pathetic? When everybody else loved SDS? It is pure genius.

Yeah, Thanks for that one Mr. Pick.
Also thanks for the other great ones you gave us like Arizona over Duke, Tulsa over Notre Dame, Jets over Colts in Super Bowl, Truman over Dewey in '48, Indians vs Custer, Jackson vs British in New Orleans,David vs Goliath.
What would we do with you? Thanks.
But What Do I Know?

Don't you think it's a little too early for Sean to get another head coaching position.

BWDIK - really? they're not talking about Sean. And yes, it is too early since you asked.

Good-time Eddie's boy to Columbia? Pinch me...I'm dreaming. Caught Mizzou AD Alden on local TV tonight. He said something pithy about his next basketball coach needing to be someone who truly wants to be at Missouri and not just use it as a "stepping stone."
Good luck with that one.

Picker, Does the following look familiar? It is from your March 14 column.....
Final Four: Ohio State, Purdue, Duke, St. John's.
Final Two: Duke, Purdue.
Winner: Duke.
Nice. There's some quality prognostication.

Next pick:
The Globetrotters over those always troublesome Generals.

Out Pick The Picker
The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
