Zac Robinson: poised and very effective

In the span of four weeks, Oklahoma State has surged from a 41-10 deficit at Troy to a 38-0 lead at Nebraska.

Prominent factors in the Cowboy revival are Adarius Bowman, Dantrell Savage and the defense. The most prominent factor, though, has been the play of quarterback Zac Robinson.

Bobby Reid is popular within the Cowboy locker room. Before the season began, he was elected the captain of the offense. After two games, he was benched. Robinson ascended to the starter's role.

Bowman has not done media interviews for several weeks, and several OSU sources explain that Bowman was upset by the quarterback switch. Bowman's numbers certainly have not been hurt since Robinson took over. In three league games, Bowman has 19 catches for 323 yards.

With Robinson as the starter against Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Nebraska, OSU averaged 540 total yards and 294.3 rushing. The Cowboys have converted on 26-of-45 third-down plays (57 percent).

It's always a big deal when a team makes an in-season quarterback switch, and it's an even bigger deal when the demoted QB – Reid – is the most heavily recruited QB in school history.

In a pressure situation, Robinson has been poised and very effective.
