Tulsa and Oklahoma City were two of only 18 cities to post decreases, according to a new report.

A new study ranks Tulsa No. 55 on a list of foreclosures in the largest 100 metro areas.

The list, compiled by real estate tracking service RealtyTrac, indicated Tulsa had 2,712 foreclosure filings for the first half of 2007, or one foreclosure for every 143 homes.

Tulsa's performance was down 8 percent from the last six months and 12 percent from the first half of 2006.

Oklahoma City was 54th on the list, with 3,660 foreclosures, or one for every 138 homes. That figure is down 22 percent from both the previous six months and the first half of 2006.

Both cities were two of only 18 in the survey that posted decreases in the number of foreclosures, said James Saccacio, CEO of RealtyTrac, in a release.

"While foreclosure activity has skyrocketed over the past year in many cities, particularly in California, Ohio and the northeast, foreclosure activity seems to be subsiding in parts of Texas, South Carolina and other states," he said.

The highest levels of foreclosures were reported in Stockton, Calif., which had one filing for every 27 households.

Other cities in the top five include Detroit; Las Vegas; and Riverside/San Bernardino and Sacramento, Calif.

Las Vegas was in the top 5 cities in the country for foreclosures. I know that that is no surprise to you.
